Gretchen Haien, Associate Professor of Art, Gallery Coordinator, and Senior Seminar coordinator, teaches photography and the art component of the worldview curriculum. She received her BA from Belhaven and her MFA from Louisiana Tech University. Since 1987 Gretchen has owned and operate her own very successful and well-known commercial photography studio. She has taught photography as an adjunct for over 20 years at both Millsaps College and Belhaven before joining Belhaven fulltime in 2007. She has also been involved in many solo, juried, and invitational exhibitions in Mississippi, Virginia, New York and Lousiana. Recently she has received the Mississippi Arts and Letters Award in Photography, and has also has been named an"Emerging Artist to Watch in Photography" by the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
